October “Street Photography” Presentation by Sonny and Walter

Join us Monday October 15th, 7PM for our Tutorial presentation on “Street Photography”  by Sonny Taylor and Walter Horishnyk

Street Photography is a fun and interesting and there are many ways street photographers use their skills. We will examine several photographers from the aspects of:

1) attitude/respect
2) technique/gear
3) content.

And, along the way, we will see some fun photos.

Walter will share with us some of his newest images taken this year in a short video presentation.

PLEASE NOTE!!!!:
At 10 p.m. Friday night(Oct 12) Hiawatha will be closed in both directions between Lake Street and E. 26th Street…closed until Oct. 22.  (This is an Excel project).

The posted detour will take drivers who use Hiawatha along Lake Street, Cedar Avenue and E. 26th St.

Those of you coming from the North especially, Beware of this slow down getting to Patrick’s Cabaret!  (3010 Minnehaha Avenue S, just east of Hiawatha and south of Lake Street).

MPS tutorial Monday, March 16th

A reminder that our upcoming MPS tutorial is on Monday, March 16th.  We’re excited to have Rikk Flohr giving a presentation on cropping . Rikk is an expert on this subject – having his own blog called “Holy Crop” where he discusses various ways to enhance our photographic images with the creative use of cropping.

New Club Year Set to Start on September 8th

The Minneapolis Photographic Society will being the 2014-2015 club year on September 8th. That evening’s salon topic is ‘Boats’.

We are now meeting at the Twin Cities Photography Group studio, located at 2500 University Ave/ suite S8 (lower level) in St. Paul.

USE the bright green door on Cromwell Avenue.

This is one block west of IFP, our former meeting place next to Hwy 280 N of 94.

NOTE: Park along Cromwell, University or Franklin heading west (DO NOT park at Memorial Blood Center – they tow).
